It is the mission of Wheaton Ranch to purchase land in Tennessee, erect an alternative energy home and outbuildings and use alternative fuel vehicles to help run the farm.

In an effort to combat stress, financially and emotionally, as well as help reduce the dependency on utility companies who are constantly raising their prices and grocery stores who get their inventory and produce from sources outside the US.

Living "off the grid" is helpful because it leaves more energy and resources for those who actually DO need it and it helps to create an actual surplus and lessens the demand and therefore lessens the price.

It is the goal of Wheaton Ranch to be self-sufficient and self-sustaining within 24 months of occupancy.

We wish to prove to the US Government that small family farms can be self-sufficient, self-sustaining and that there needs to be more of them to help this great country become more stable. Maybe if enough of us go with alternate energy, life will become more reasonably priced and with less stress.

Utilities: Windmill, solar panels, generator and batteries for electricity; 2 wells, one for electric pump and one for bucket draw and a Fireplace for heat.

Log home - $100,000 (includes site prep, sewer, wells, wiring and plumbing)
Outbuildings - $10,000 (barn, chicken coop, generator shed)

Food:
Cows for milk, butter and cheese,
chickens for eggs,
venison for meat and a garden for vegetable
as well as homemade bread, jam, soap.

We have the experience and skills to help start and support the ranch with the following income ideas but most of the necessities will be homemade:

Junior's Dog and Horse Services (training, grooming and boarding)
Wheaton Fishing (stocked trout pond)
